Betty A. Drews, 79 of Ashland passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born August 27, 1937 in Harlan, IA to Dale and Dorothy McKeighan.  She graduated from Omaha Tech High School in 1956.  She was united in marriage to LeRoy Drews on December 16, 1956 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Yutan, NE.

Betty owned and operated an in-home day care for 13 years.  She truly loved taking care of the kids.  In Betty’s early years she worked as a cook and cleaned houses. She was Scout Leader for the Cub Scouts and was a member of the Altar Guild at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Yutan.  Betty was a member of American Lutheran Church in Ashland.  She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, cross stitching, frequenting garage sales and auctions.  Her and her husband enjoyed being camp hosts at Cottonwood campground at Gavins Point and at Randall Creek. Most of all Betty loved her family especially her grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her husband, LeRoy Drews; children, Larry (Pat) Drews of Yutan, NE, Dale (Tara) Drews of Wagner, SD, Cheryl (Gordon) Todd of Greewood, NE; grandchildren, Travis (Jill) Drews, Daniel Drews, Mindy (Jake) Barna, Dustin (Jessica) Drews, John Drews, Jordan Drews, Derek Drews, Joshua (Deb) Todd, Jessica (Lance) Owen, Caroline Smith; great-grandchildren, Grant, Gracie, Elenor Barna, Jacob, Justin Prososki, Maelynn Todd, Wesley Owen, Boaz Drews; sisters, Catherene Nelson, Margaret Stanesic; brother, Charles (Helen) McKeighan; sister-in-law, Mary McKeighan; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Dorothy McKeighan; brother, Jerry McKeighan; parents-in-law, Claus and Elsie Drews; brothers-in-law, Jerome Nelson, Don Stanesic; nephew, Charles McKeighan, Jr.
