Betty Mae Landers, 79 of Ashland, NE, died Friday, February 6, 2015 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha after a long and courageous battle with Wegener’s Disease. Betty was born May 27, 1935 in Iowa to Ambrose and Myrtle (Tradal) O’Neill. Betty graduated as a registered nurse from Jennie Edmundson Nursing School in Council Bluffs. She worked at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha for over 30 years.
Betty is survived by husband of 59 years, Fred Landers of Ashland; son, Fred A Landers of Ashland; daughter, Pamela (Paul) Coffin of Lincoln; grandchildren, Phillip and Sara of Lincoln; great-grandchild, Leah of Lincoln; 4 sisters and 2 brothers. She was preceded in death by parents and brothers, Bob, Buster, and Jim.
I was so glad when Marla called and told me about Betty. I have not seen her in years but I had not forgotten her–after all we spent 4 years together in nursing school. Know you will all miss her a lot. I am sorry for your loss.
