Cecelia “Cec” M. Campbell, 78 of Ashland, NE entered into eternal rest Monday, January 23, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. She was born July 30, 1938 in O’Neill, NE to Leo P. and Alice M. (Minton) Matthews. She graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1957. Cecelia was united in marriage to Jerry L. Campbell on December 26, 1959 and lived in Ashland for a short time. Then they moved to O’Neill, NE for eight years and then back to Ashland for the rest of their lives. From this union, seven children were born.

Cecilia worked for Telex Corporation in Lincoln. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and attending many of their activities. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ashland.

She is survived by her children, Jerry (Marisue) Campbell, Jr. of Ashland, Patty (Russell) Withrow of Alvo, NE, Mary (Larry) Read, Jr. of Eaton, CO; Allen (Laurel) Campbell of Ashland, Matt (Nancy) Campbell all of Ashland, NE Shawn (Vikki Wittstruck) Campbell of Ashland; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Francis (Norma) Matthews of Norfolk, NE; nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry L. Campbell, Sr.; parents; infant son, Kevin Ray Campbell; three brothers; one sister.

    I used to wait on Cece and Jerry all the time when I was younger and worked as a waitress. They always made me laugh, especially Cece. My condolences to the family.
