Christy L. Franks, 52 of Ashland, NE passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019 in Lincoln, NE.  She was born March 27, 1967 in Lincoln to Jerry and Richene (Christy) Huggins.  She graduated from Ashland High School in 1985 and later received an associate degree in accounting at Southeast Community College in Lincoln. On July 14, 1998, Christy was married to Curtis Franks after a 15 year relationship together that began on January 2, 1983.

Christy was a homemaker but also worked at Casey’s, No Frills & Ashland Care Center.  She was a caring, loyal and a devoted mother of four who became the best head chef and chauffeur a kid could ask for.

Christy is survived by her children, Nicholas Huggins, Stephanie Huggins, Rachel Huggins, Miranda Huggins; grandchildren, Kiara and Landen Huggins; siblings, Marty Blessing, Shalla Springer, Shanna Huggins; best friends, Linda Hiatt, Tanya Minnick; many honorary kids and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Franks; father, Jerry Huggins; mother, Richene (Craig) Perkins; grandparents, Orville & Barbara Cunningham.

    I am very saddened at the passing of Christy. So much of my childhood and memories include her. She will be dearly missed. I am sorry for this loss for the family.

    We are so sorry to hear about your mom! My dad just passed away at the beginning of March so I empathize with you. It’s so hard to lose a parent. Our family will be thinking of you and praying that God would provide for your needs, remind you of her love, and surround you with people who can share your burdens.
