Cornelius “Bill” Scanlon, 81 of Ceresco, NE, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln, NE.  He was born on September 13, 1932 in Ceresco, NE to James and Agnes (Caha) Scanlon.  Bill graduated from Ceresco High School and then from UNL with a business degree.  He served his country in the U.S. Army after WWII until being honorably discharged.  For over 30 years, Bill worked at the UNL power plant until his retirement.

He is survived by sister, Margaret Sousek of Denver, CO; brother, Edwin Scanlon of Ceresco, NE; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Scanlon and Theresa Scheiding; brothers, Joe Scanlon, James LaVerne Scanlon, and Frank Scanlon; infant sister, Anne Darlene Scanlon.

Rev. Joseph Bernardo will be officiating.

Pallbearers are David Sousek, Ron Scanlon, Ryan Scanlon, Thomas Taylor, David Woodman, and Randy Scanlon.

Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Tvrdy, Jerry Minchow, Dan Pabian, Eugene Tvrdy, and Ron Tvrdy.
