Dale E. Rung, 91 of Ashland, NE, died Monday, April 6, 2015 at Gateway Vista in Lincoln. He was born June 21, 1923 in Greenwood, NE to Guy and Lela (Mefford) Rung. He graduated from Ashland High School in 1941. Dale served his country in the U.S. Army, 10th Mountain Division, during WWII until he was honorably discharged in 1945. During his training in the Army he attended UCLA. On February 6, 1943, Dale was married to Bessie Keiser in Wahoo. Dale was a carpenter, working for many people in the Ashland area. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Ashland, VFW #9776, and the American Legion #129. He was a 50 year member of the American Legion.

He is survived by children, Karen (Bill) Graham of Grove, OK, Rodger (Nancy) Rung of Gilbert, AZ, Sandra (Russ) Allington of Ashland, Kent (Jody) Rung of Ashland; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife, Bessie Rung; infant son, Guy Steven Rung; and brother, Farrell Rung.
