Donald L. Jelinek, 91, of Wahoo, NE, died Monday, December 4, 2017 at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln, NE.  He was born January 13, 1926 in Weston, NE to Frank A. and Anna (Chmelka) Jelinek.  Don graduated from Weston High School.  On October 4, 1950, Don was married to Eleanor M. Slemin in Weston, NE.  Through the years, Don worked for Farmes Coop Elevator, Champlin Service Station, Sinclair Service Station, as the Sheriff of Saunders County, Wahoo Police Department and Wahoo Parks and Recreation.  He was a member of the Eagles Club and a 67 year member of Wahoo Fire and Rescue.

Don enjoyed fishing, gardening, auctions, cooking, baking, watching professional wrestling, polka music, western music, dancing, carpentry, singing, canning home grown fruit and vegetables, garage sales and family get-togethers.

He is survived by wife of 67 years, Eleanor Slemin; children, Kenneth (Blanca) Jelinek of Schuyler, NE, Sharon Frommie of Schuyler, NE, Keryl (Kelby) Hadley of Ogden, UT, James (Lora) Jelinek of Wahoo, NE, Brian Jelinek and fiancé Becky of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Angie Diaz, Melinda Jelinek, Richard Jelinek, Junior Aguilar, Alexa Jimenez, Christopher Frommie, Melinda Frommie, Joseph Jelinek, Shawn (Al) Puntasecca, Whitley (Jacob) Hettenbaugh, Tyson (Kaylee) Jelinek; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Slemin and Shirley Ingram; son-in-law, Lonnie Price; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Linda Price; parents, Frank and Anna Jelinek; siblings, Adeline Johnson, Sylvia Mattson, Ann Marie Jelinek, Francis Jelinek, Max Jelinek, Leona Parker.
