Doretta M. Kellogg, 97 of Ashland, NE passed away Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Ashland Care Center in Ashland, NE.  She was born March 3, 1921 in Cass County outside of Eagle, NE to Fred and Carrie (Bill) Rueter.  She attended grade school in Manley, NE and graduated from Alvo High School in 1938.  She was united in marriage to Harold F. Kellogg on September 15, 1939 in Glenwood, IA.

Doretta worked for Russell Stover Candies in Lincoln, Western Electric in Omaha and was an owner and operator of motels in Dodge City and Independence, KS.  She was a member of the First Christian Church in Ashland.

Doretta is survived by her children, Joanne (Neil) Prettyman of Papillion, NE, Jim (Beth) Kellogg of Wahoo, NE and Ruth (Earl) Smith of Pacific Junction, IA; grandchildren, John (Pam) Kellogg, Mark (Ashley) Kellogg, Angelia Wigle, Tim Wolkow, Brad (Julie) Wolkow, Kim (Ken) Gangwish, Carrie Kellogg, Nichole (David) Wedding, Cindy (Steven) Melvin, Susan (Larry, Jr.) Kohler, Janet (Brett) Bradley and Eric Smith; 26 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeanette Brannon, Bernice Brannon and Genevieve Stilwell; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Carrie Rueter; husband, Harold F, Kellogg, Sr.; son, Harold F. Kellogg, Jr.; brothers, Willard, Floyd, John and an infant brother; sisters, Berdina, Grace, Viva and Blanche
