Dorothy Caroline Konecky passed away at the age of 90 on Monday November 3rd, 2014 at Brookestone Meadows Care Center in Elkhorn, NE. She was born on August 7th, 1924 to Bertha and Emanuel Freidlund in Colon, Nebraska and had 3 siblings: Carl, Mildred and Alvin. She lived in Mead, Nebraska for most of her life.

She is survived by 10 children: David(Melissa), Lawrence(Deren), Leroy(Norma), Doug, Vince, Brian(Deb), Anne(Randy), Mary(Terry), John and Kevin(Raquel); 25 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and sister Mildred.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dale; brothers Carl and Alvin and granddaughter Amy.

Dorothy was a stay-at-home mother who along with her husband raised 10 children. She cooked most meals and made many of the clothes for her children. She was skilled in quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing and hardanger. She made many wedding dresses, quilts, afghans, curtains and hemmed many pants for family and friends. She also found time to serve on the local school board and was a 4-H leader.

She was a member of St. James Catholic Church for over 60 years and volunteered her time generously for the PCCW and other committees. She and her friends made many quilts for church raffles and priests through the years.
