Dorothy K. (Perkins) Maher, 99, rural Greenwood, NE. passed away Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017 at her home. She was born November 27, 1917 to Gaybelle and Byron Perkins in rural Roca, NE. and later moving north of Waverly, NE. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and was united in marriage to James A. Maher on June 25, 1942 in Lincoln. Dorothy loved the farm and the cows, especially the baby calves. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandsons and great grandchildren. She loved her dogs and cats and was an avid gardener.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, James Maher; parents; one grandson; one step-grandson; two sisters; one brother.
She is survived by son, Jerry (Janice) Maher; daughter Gay (Dave, deceased) Martin; nine grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

Dear Jerry, Gay & Families: Was Very Sorry to read of Dorothy’s passing. I had tried to call her recently but got no answer so left a message. Always enjoyed my very occasional chat’s with her. Losing our loved ones is never easy and you have our Deepest Sympathy during this difficult time. May She Rest In Peace. Love and Best to All.
