Eugene “Pudge” “Yoda” A. Vosler, 56 of Rising City, NE, died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Seward, NE.  He was born September 14, 1959 in Omaha, NE to Preston and Marge (Peirce) Vosler.  Eugene graduated from Ashland High School in 1977.  He worked with his father at Vosler Garbage Service following graduation from high school.  Eugene worked for Hull and Smith Vanlines in Ashland and Ashland-Greenwood Public Schools as a janitor/bus driver.  He spent 9 years working for Frontier Coop in fuel delivery.

Eugene was a member of Ashland Fire and Rescue, a past member of the Masonic Lodge, and he was on the Rural Fire Board.  He enjoyed taking pictures on his many drives.  He valued his friends and customers at Frontier Coop.  Eugene was known as the fun uncle and he always knew how to make his nieces and nephews happy.

He is survived by father Preston “Buster” Vosler of Ashland; sisters: Jeanne Riggins of Ashland, Tamala (Ned) Donohoe of LaVista, Tycha (Gary) Stander of Alvo; nieces and nephews: Christine (David Wilhelm) Despain of Lincoln, Janet (Brian) Schultz of Lincoln, Heather (Nick) Cerny of Manor, TX, Jeff Donohoe of Lincoln, Colt (Karen) Stander of San Francisco, CA, Zach Stander of Murdock; great nieces and nephew: Cierra Stawniak, Atrayana Donohoe, DeCota Wilhelm, Calvin Schultz, Kaylei Wilhelm, Sage Cerny.

He was preceded in death by mother Marge Vosler.

    I’m so sorry for your loss. Yoda was a great guy. I enjoyed visiting with him. He always spoke to me no matter where I would see him. Brainard, Rezac Café in Weston, Wahoo Pizza hut,and even Walmart in Columbus, NE. The man upstairs must of needed another great one. Because iny eyes he was.

    So sorry for your loss, I wish I could be there but we are out of town. So many good memories, of Pudge and your whole family, lots of things we did together when we were younger! I can not believe he is gone, I know we have grown apart but it seems like yesterday he was telling nose jokes while I was in labor with Kyle! We are to young to be loosing friends, we are still kids aren’t we? Prayers and hugs to you all Barb Cockerill

    Buster and “Pudges” Family,sorry to hear of of your loss. What a character “Pudge,” always smilin’ and loved the suspenders!
    May you finds Peace and Comfort knowing he was a a man full-of spit and vinegar,happy go lucky and fun to be around.

    So sorry to here of Gene’s passing. I work at Dales Food Pride in David city. Gene would come in every so often. He was very nice. Even the first time I met him, it seemed like I had know him longer. He will be greatly missed.

    Sorry to hear of the loss of a very kind soul. I had the pleasure of being one of Eugene classmates from kindergarten to graduation. He was always friendly and caring. Just a really good guy!!! He will be missed and my thought are with you all!
