Grant Taylor Johnson, 9 years old of Ashland, NE, entered into rest on Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Ashland, Nebraska. He was born September 1, 2004 in Omaha, Nebraska to Chad and Kim (Williamson) Johnson.
As a 3rd grader at Ashland-Greenwood Elementary, Grant loved life. Even at a very young age he had a unique passion for hard work. When he wasn’t helping mom or dad on a project, he would seek out neighbors, family or friends in need of his capable little hands. He preferred to stay active at all times, so if he felt the pace slow down, you could always count on him for encouragement: “come on guys, let’s get some ‘motibation’ “…
Grant was a loving little boy with a huge heart, and he will be missed dearly by his many family members and friends.
He is survived by parents, Chad and Kim Johnson; brothers, Nikotah Johnson and Wyatt Johnson; sister, Callie Johnson; grandparents, Randy and Carol Johnson of Ashland, Judy and Dwight Belville of Lincoln, Carl and Patty Williamson of Butte, NE; many other family members and friends.
Preceded in death by cousins, Rypland Senser, Jacy Kaup, Scott Dawson, and Chad Poppe.
Pastor Kyle Ballard will be officiating.
I love you Kim and can’t imagine your grief! Praying for you unconditionally!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all! Dennis & Cheri O’Kelly
Ron and I were so saddened to hear about Grants’ death. His grandmother, Judy and my sister and I are close friends. Since Grant was a baby, we heard about what a wonderful grandson he was. His antics kept us laughing and we always were waiting to hear what Grant had done next. He will be greatly missed we know and we pray for comfort and peace from our Lord for the whole family.
Words can’t describe how deeply sorry I am for you and your family. I will keep you in my prayers.
Our prayers surround you! We are so very sorry for your incredible loss and the deepness of your pain.
Kim and family- My dear friend, I have no words that can take away this horrible grief and pain. I just want you to know- that I love you! I don’t understand God’s will but I’m praying with all my heart & soul he will give you and your family the strength to deal with the pain and for you to know that your beautiful Grant Taylor was the luckiest little boy in the whole wide world to have you as his mama. He is smiling down on you right now because he gets to help God with all of his projects now and he knows he’s up for the challenge- all because of the precious and wonderful things you taught him! My heart is with all of you….Jennifer

Dear Johnson Family: I am a substitute teacher with Ashland/Greenwood. I always enjoyed having Grant in class during the days I was filling in for an instructor. He always had a smile on his face, a wonderful sense-of-humor and a passion to learn. God Bless your family at this most difficult time. ~Lori Schenk
Psalm 116:15
Precious in the sight of the Lord Is the death of His godly ones.
To The Johnson family,
I was friends with Grant’s grandparents long ago when we all lived in Waverly.
May your faith get you through this very sad time.. please remember always that precious little Grant is now an angel watching over all of you, may this somehow give you peace in knowing he is happy in his Heavenly home and you will meet again. God bless each of you and may He give you peace. Linda Leyden (Beason)
God bless you all. Know that my prayers are with all of you.
Chad, Kim, Niko, Wyatt, Callie and all–
I have so many thoughts and so few words. Know that you are in our family’s thoughts during this unfathomably painful time. Thank you for sharing your special, funny, curious little man with us–his little smile could brighten the darkest day and I feel so fortunate to have been given the chance to know and love him. I can only imagine that he has endless tools and building materials and he is a busy, busy boy right now! Rest in peace, G-man.
