James E. Ballou was born in Ashland, Nebraska to Martin E. and Mildred (Manley) Ballou on May 26, 1930. He died December 13, 2014 in Fort Collins, CO. Jim graduated from Ashland High School in 1947 and farmed in Iowa and Nebraska. He moved to Southern California in 1958 where he held a variety of sales positions. In 1983, Jim returned to Lincoln, NE where he was a manager at Park Place Cadillac. He was a salesman at Duteau Chevrolet until he retired in 1999. Jim loved to restore automobiles and homes. He was a resident of Fort Collins, CO from 2001 – 2014.

He is survived by his wife Dalene, daughter Cathy Merryman and her husband Steve, step-son Tom Piper Ballou, granddaughters Angie Schumacher and her husband Jim, and Melinda Merryman, sister Delores Olson, brother Gene and his wife Wanda, 6 nieces, 6 nephews.
