Jimmy L. Barber, 58 of Wahoo, NE, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 6, 2014 at the Saunders Care Center in Wahoo. He was born on June 12, 1956 in Plainview, NE to Charlie and Etta (Tweedy) Barber. Jimmy lived in the Beatrice State Home for most of his life and in 2009 he moved to the Saunders Care Center.
He is survived by sister, Etta “Renee” (Tim) Beaver of Jackboro, TX; brothers, Loren (Nancy) Lucas of Missouri, Ricky (Deaun) Lucas of Hooper, NE, Randall Lucas of Mead, NE, Dan (Mary) Lucas of Ithaca, NE, and David (Staci) Lucas of Missouri; sister-in-law, Elaine Barber; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by parents, Charlie Barber Sr. and Loren and Etta Lucas; brother, Charlie Barber Jr.
I cared for Jimmy while I worked at BSDC in the early 1990’s. He was a very sweet soul, I’m sorry for your loss. May God embrace Jimmy with the full warmth of his love. Blessings, Amy Baisley-Hansen
