Keith M. Weston, 82 of Ashland, NE, died Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Oxbow Living Center in Ashland.  He was born September 15, 1933 in Lincoln, NE to Carl and Mildred (Craig) Weston.  Keith attended Fairland country school and graduated from Ashland High School in 1950.  On August 6, 1953, Keith was married to Connie Schulz in Seward, NE.

Keith was a lifelong farmer and he sold for Vigortone Ag Products for many years.  He was a member of the VFW #9776 serving as Quartermaster for many years.  He was a past leader of the Fairland Giants 4-H Club and a past Ashland Stir-up King.  In 1968, Keith received the Outstanding Young Farmer award from the area Jaycee’s and he received the Aksarben Farm Family of the Year award in 1972.  Keith was quick to help a neighbor or a friend and he was always willing to promote agriculture to youth in the community.  Keith’s favorite hobby was hunting with his dogs.

He is survived by wife of 63 years Connie Weston; children: Cindy (Karl) Connell of Newport, NE, Carla (Roger) Lambert of Ashland, Clay (Mary) Weston of Greenwood; 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother Gene Weston of Denver, CO.

He was preceded in death by grandson Tadd Lambert; parents Carl and Mildred Weston; sister Betty Heier.

    What a Giant person Keith was, both in personality and heart. It won’t quit be the same with out Mr. Keith Weston around. Keith has left all of the people that knew him with wonderful memories, and each time we think of him, we can’t help but smile.

    What a friend and buddy to me. He was always in my thoughts,we both loved hounds and this brought a special bond . I will truly miss this man, he will always be on my mind anytime I have a hound in that Ole dog box!!!!! Will never quit telling stories about Keith and our hunts together!!!God Bless all of the Weston Family!!!!!
