Leonard V. Novacek, 92 of Brainard, NE, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at David Place in David City, NE. He was born March 20, 1923 in Bruno, NE to Frank and Margaret (Bruner) Novacek. On June 10, 1946, he was united in marriage to Elsie Petrzilka at St. Luke Catholic Church in Loma. Leonard farmed in the Brainard area for most of his life.

Leonard was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard. He had a love for flying his airplanes and he had a runway on the farm. He also loved his tractors, horses and buggies, and his Hereford cattle. In his earlier years, Leonard loved to play softball.

He is survived by daughters, LuJane (Ken) Kotera of Brainard and Lynnette (Jerome) Kotera of Wahoo; grandchildren, Neil (Jessica) Kotera and their children Avery and Grayson of Gretna, and Kurtis (Elizabeth) Kotera of Milford, Nathan (Brittany) Kotera and their daughter Kelli of Omaha, Nevin Kotera of Omaha, Mitchell Kotera of Omaha.

He was preceded in death by wife, Elsie Novacek; parents, Frank and Margaret Novacek; brother, Victor Novacek; and sister, Dorothy Bartunek.

    Awww, just checked lately with Lynnette on how “dad” was doing! Sorry to hear of his death. We enjoyed your folks so much in the Sears days! I remember taking my brother and family from Pennsylvania to the farm. Your mom had chicken noodle soup for us! Thinking of you. With love, Lee and Dica
