Margaret L. “Marge” Sikyta, 89 of Ashland, NE, entered into rest on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Hospice House in Omaha, NE. Margaret was born March 25, 1924 on a farm in rural Ashland, NE to Wilke and Jessye (Markle) Jacobs. After graduating from Ashland High School in 1941, she attended business school in Omaha. On April 9, 1943, Margaret was united in marriage to Curtis James Sikyta. She was employed with the Army National Guard for 35 years as an executive secretary to the Adjutant General of U.S. Property and Fiscal Office.
Margaret was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Ashland and the American Legion #129 Auxiliary. She was a very patriotic person. She loved attending Nebraska football games. She enjoyed playing cards with friends, traveling, and trips to the casino. Reading books was one of her favorite hobbies and she also loved baking for her family. Margaret always put her family first and she will be greatly missed.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis James Sikyta; son, William Frank Sikyta; grandson, William Dale Vandeman Jr.; brothers, George, Wilmer, Frank, and Herman; sisters, Helen, Betty, Edythe, and Alyce; one infant brother.
She is survived by daughter, Cheryl Nygren of Omaha; sons, James R. Sikyta of Ashland, Thomas R. (Bunny) Sikyta of Venice, FL, Curtis A. (Marcie) Sikyta of Ord, NE; grandchildren, David (Lucinda) Vandeman, Daniel (Dawn) Vandeman, Jason (Adri) Sikyta, Curtis J. (Adia) Sikyta, Mindy (Cale) Corbett, Heather Sikyta, and Jake (Leslie) Sikyta; 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Marge, Rest in peace great lady. No more pain, no more suffering. We pray for peace for the family you leave behind.

To the Family of Aunt Marge: So sorry to hear of Aunt Marge’s passing. May she rest in peace and with the rest of her family and find joy and peace and comfort.
