Mary Ann (Solberg) Zaloudek, 82, of Lincoln, NE, died Saturday February 21, 2015, at her home with her family by her side. Mary was born on November 28, 1932, to parents Manter and Evelyn (Wicklund) Solberg in Wahoo, NE. She was raised on a farm outside of Mead, NE. She received most of her childhood education in Mead, later moving to Fremont, NE where she graduated high school and attended college at Midland. On July 14, 1953, she married Joseph Zaloudek at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. Following their marriage they moved to Lincoln, where Mary tended the family home. She also worked for State Farm and Pyrtle Elementary School in the cafeteria.

Mary was a member of the VFW Post #131 Auxiliary and St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Lincoln. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and fishing in Minnesota. She was an avid sports fan with a strong knowledge of Husker football.
She was survived by her husband, Joseph Zaloudek; sons, Steven (Virginia) Zaloudek of Red Field, SD, David Zaloudek of Lincoln, NE, and granddaughter, Ansley Zaloudek of Lincoln, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

    I would like to offer my condolences and prayers to Joe, Steve and David. I’m sorry I missed the funeral, I didn’t find out until Wednesday. She was like a second mother to me growing up.
