McKenna Nicole Smith, 17, of Greenwood, NE, died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Children’s Hospital in Omaha, NE. She was born April 27, 1999 in Lincoln, NE. McKenna would have been a senior at Waverly High School. She loved music and people. McKenna was a friend to everyone and she will be deeply missed.
She is survived by parents Jeremey and Amy Dickes; father Tracy Smith; grandparents: Linda Gisvold, Preston and Leisha Clark, Chris and Roger Dickes, Gayle and Barb Smith, Frank and Nancy Despain; half brother Aiden Smith; uncles Preston Clark and William Despain; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members; special friend McKenna Jo Sobota.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents.
I am so sorry. My granddaughter was also 17 when JHD took her. Remember the good times.????
Im so sorry for your loss, my thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. She’s so beautiful. Fly high and free little angel. Dear God give this family strength peace and comfort in their days ahead.
Amy and family just remember no more pain or meds tubes or chairs she has been set free to fly away from all that held her back shes watching and wondering how your going to manage but she knows you are so very strong her illness showed her how very strong you are so just know shes loving you from a high spot now smiling for just you Amy.
May the memories of many wonderful moments with McKenna and the love and support of family and friends help you find some comfort in the weeks ahead. My prayers are with you.

Amy and Jeremy you have been mckennas guardian angel caring for her over the years and you have done a remarkable job now she is your guardian angel from heaven and she will be beside you everywhere you go and whatever you do she is always going to be with you making sure you stay strong and keep fighting we are sending prayers and hugs and a lot of love your way
