Milton A. Bachman, 95 years of Gretna, NE, died Nov. 28, 2013 at the  Gretna Community Living Center.  He was born in Cass County, NE on Oct. 22, 1918 to Aaron and Mable (Jones) Bachman.  He attended a country school nearby and graduated from Ashland High School in 1937.  He was married to Velma Walradt on Sept. 10, 1941 at the parsonage of the Methodist-Episcopal Church in Papillion, NE.  They were married for 67 years at the time of her death in 2008.  They moved to San Diego, CA where they both worked for Consolidated Airlines from 1941 – 1943.   They moved to a farm south of Ashland where Milton farmed until 1959.  At that time, they moved into Ashland and bought a liquor store and called it “Milts Place”.  Together, they operated the liquor store while Milton worked at Stauford Chemical in Omaha until they retired in 1979.  They lived in Ashland until 1988 when they moved to Tucson, AZ.  They bought a home in Gretna in 1992 and lived there until moving back to Tucson in 1997.  During that time in Gretna, Milton worked at the Shell Station there.  In 2005, they moved back to Gretna. Milton was a past member of the Lions and Elk Clubs in Omaha.

He is survived by his sisters: Margaret Mason, Ashland, NE, Iola Pearce, San Diego, CA; brother: Vernor (Lavina) Bachman, Yuma, AZ; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Velma M. Bachman.
