Patricia L. Hurst, 79 of Ashland, NE passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born December 7, 1939 in Ashland to Harold “Casey” and Blanche “Maude” (Barger) Campbell. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1957. Patricia was united in marriage on June 14, 1958 in Ashland to Claude E. Hurst. Over the years Patricia worked at Jack & Jill, the Ashland Care Center as the head of housekeeping and as a bookkeeper for Hurst Electric Service.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Ashland where she taught Sunday school, member of the Ashland Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Girl Scout Leader and Ashland Jaycees. She enjoyed camping, reading, scrapbooking, garage saling, watching football, baseball and growing plants. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Patricia is survived by her husband of 61 years, Claude Hurst; children, Debra West of Omaha, Terri (Randy) Todd of Eagle, Mike (Julie) Hurst of Lincoln, Michelle Hurst of Ashland; grandchildren, Theresa Welker, Lance (Steph) Todd, Arik (Nicholle) Todd, Joe (Michelle) Campbell; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Susie and Devin Welker, Camden and Riley Todd, Holly Campbell; siblings, Judy (Dave) Regennitter, Jack (Donnaetta) Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Blanche Campbell.
Claude and family, so sorry to learn that Pat has passed,she was such a kind and living person. I remember all the years growing up with all the Bargar related families in Ashland.
Has the family had any thoughts about donations?
So sorry to learn of Pat’s passing. We were classmates K thru 12. We were close friends. I have many fond memories of Pat. She will be missed by many friends.
I am sorry to here Pat’s passing she had been a classmate since 3rd grade. I remember her as a gentle and friendly classmate.
Condolences to the family. I am very sorry to hear of Pat’s passing, she and I worked together at the nursing home. She was always very kind to everyone.
