William “Billy” H. Dauel, 77, of Malmo, NE, died Thursday, April 12, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lincoln, NE.  He was born May 11, 1940 in Fremont, NE to William C. and Bessie (Haba) Dauel.  Billy graduated from Prague High School in 1958.  He served his country in the U.S. Army until he was honorably discharged in 1965.  On May 5, 1990, Billy was united in marriage to Vicki Needham at Fairview Church in rural Iowa.

Billy was a lifelong farmer, proud veteran and a simple man that was willing to help anyone.  He enjoyed gun shows, fishing, hunting and butchering livestock.  He was a lifetime member of the Prague American Legion #254 and the Malmo Fire Dept.

He is survived by wife, Vicki Dauel; children, Ryan Dauel, Anna Dauel, Stacey Dauel and Jill Dauel; grandchildren, Presley Dauel and Shandra Dauel; siblings, Rosalie Frana, Kathy Stanek and Eugene (Deb) Dauel; special nephew and great-nephew, Rodney Stanek and Dalton Stanek; many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and Bessie Dauel; brother-in-law, Robert Needham.

    Condolences from our family to yours. I don’t recall meeting Billy but he was a farmer and veteran therefore he was a good man! May he rest in peace.

    CONDOLENCES to ALL of Billy’s family – – I was a classmate of Billy’s at Prague High School – –I also remember he won a Hot Air Baloon Ride in 1988 at our Class reunion. RIP BILLY ! ! !
