In Care of the Family
Susan R. Wilson, 58 of St. Joseph, MO, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha. She was born on May 5, 1956 in Omaha to Lloyd and Ann (Umland) Smith. In 1974, Susan graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Council Bluffs, IA and later received her Associates Degree from Penn Valley Community College in Missouri. She worked for the Head Start Program in St. Joseph, MO for over 25 years.
Susan loved traveling and she loved her dogs. Her favorite vacation place was Hawaii, sitting on the beach and enjoying the water. Most of all, she loved the time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters, Mileah Wilson of Ashland, NE and Elisha Jackson of St. Joseph, MO; grandchildren, Cayden, Kaylen, Cameron, and Caleb Jackson; twin brother, Steven Smith of Denver, CO; sister, Barbara Smith of Ashland, NE; aunt, Mary Ellen Bell of Fremont; great friend, Tureno Wilson of Omaha; many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Lloyd and Ann Smith.
Although years and miles had separated us from being as close as we were when we lived next to each other,I will always cherish the times and talks and fun we had,and the reconnection we had recently through facebook and phone calls..I am saddened we won’t get to follow through with our summer plans of getting together, but I’m also comforted in knowing the journey you have made is home with the Lord….You will be greatly missed by so many,I send prayers to all the family the gilrs and grandbabies and Tureno…….Love your sister and friend in Christ Kim Hildreth

Three years Sue went to be with the Lord and rejoin her loved ones. Those of us left behind rejoice in her everlasting union and although we dearly miss her everyday that passes we know we too will join her someday and our hearts will overflow with love. Until then we miss you sis.
Missing you every moment. I was the luckiest girl in the world to have you as my mother. I am the woman I am today because of your greatness. You will always be the topic of my hearts conversations. I love you to the top of the world and back mom. Rest easy I’ll see you soon.
