Shirley Dimmitt, 80 of Ashland, NE passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, NE. She was born March 19, 1942 in Riverside, CA to Donald and Raida (Knoell) Kern. She attended Ashland Greenwood high school. Shirley was united in marriage to LeRoy Dimmitt on January 12, 1963.
She was a waitress for 39 years working at several local restaurants in Ashland, NE. She was also a housekeeper at Mahoney State Park for several years.
Shirley is survived by her children, Debra (Lynn) Forsgren of Lincoln, Susan (Vern) Short of Ashland, and James (Lori) Dimmitt of Ashland; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Clifford (June) Kern of Ashland, Clayton Kern of Lincoln and Linda (Darrel) Kuhlman of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Raida Kern; husband, LeRoy Dimmitt; great-grandson, Dylan Forsgren; twin-sister, Sharon (Charlie) Coffin.
I am so very sorry about losing Shirley. We have been friends for many many years. I can still her laugh, which she loved to do. This picture is the best. RIP Shirley. Prayers and love to the family.

So very sorry for your loss. Shirley and Sharon both, were two of my favorite coworkers when I was younger. Always great attitudes, a lot of fun, and never a dull moment. We all will miss Shirley.
