Ruth A Boot, 86, of Ashland, died Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Ashland Care Center. She was born on October 23, 1928 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to William H Oxner and Edna Welch. She later was united in marriage to Glenn Boot Sr. on April 6, 1946 in Hawthorn, Kansas. Following their marriage they moved to various places, finally settling in Memphis, Nebraska. Throughout the years she worked at Don’s Bar and the Ashland National Guard Camp, all while caring for her family.
Ruth loved crafts, crocheting, and playing card games, especially canasta. Above all Ruth loved to spend time with and care for her family.
She is survived by her children Libby (Jerry) Jackson of Missouri Valley, IA, Anna Simmons of Tipton, IA, Scarlet (Merle) Woodside of Memphis, NE, Schrial (Robert) Hall of Lincoln, NE, and Glenn Boot Jr. of Omaha, NE; brother, Edward (Mary Ann) Oxner of Little Rock, AR; 26 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Walter; daughters, Geraldine and Jeannie; grandson, Jimmy; and great-grandson, Ernest.
I love All of you, and miss everybody. I wish I was able to see grandma before she past. She is in a better place now, and god bless her soul.
