Altha Lorene Nielsen was born September 11, 1929, to Reuben and Hannah Johnson and passed away on June 3, 2024.

Altha was a graduate of Wallace High School and received a Bachelor of Arts from Kearney State College and a Master in Education from the University of Arizona. She taught school in Brady, Dickens and North Platte, NE, Tucson, AZ and Spring Creek, SD. She also obtained her real estate license and worked for many years in the real estate, insurance and finance industries.

Altha loved to dance, oil paint and travel and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, embroidering and a variety of craft projects. She traveled to England, Germany, Holland, France, Switzerland, Luxenberg, Italy, Denmark and visited family in Sweden numerous times.

Survivors include her son Denny (Joleen) Correll of Ashland, NE, one sister Donna Jean Sullivan of North Platte, NE, 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, plus many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, LaVona Mae, her parents (Reuben & Hannah Johnson), her grandparents (John & Tillie Nelson and Orlie & Amanda Johnson), aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Altha was a member of the Maria Lutheran Church of Hershey, NE, and graveside services will be conducted in the O’Fallon Cemetery near Hershey, NE, at a date yet to be determined.
