Arlan Eugene Neben died Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the Bryan East Hospital. Arlan was born on January 26, 1938 in Alvo, Nebraska to Dan & Meta (Rieckman) Neben. He grew up on the farm and graduated from Alvo High School in 1956. During high school he participated in the sports of football, basketball and track. After graduation Arlan helped his father on the farm and in 1960 when his father died he took care of the farming while living with his mother.

Arlan was very active in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Murdock. At one time he was on the Trustees Board and another time he was the treasurer of the Church. He also took turns teaching the Friendship Sunday School Class. He also served as a Board member of the Callahan Cemetery.

Arlan was a 4-H Leader for about 21 years leading a 4-H Club in western Cass County.

Arlan married Wanda Doughtery on Feb. 14, 1995 and they lived on the farm Arlan had always lived on. When they first were married they took several trips together.

Arlan lived in the home for all his life from birth until May 2020 when he was hospitalized at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln. After being in the hospital he moved to Madonna and Eastmont Care facilities and on Sept. 1, 2020 Arlan and Wanda moved into Gramercy Hill Assisted Living at 6800 β€œA” Street, Lincoln, NE 68510.

Arlan is survived by his wife, Wanda Doughtery Neben, his brother and wife, Pastor Bob & Mary Neben, Lincoln; a niece, Amy & Corby Renard, Lincoln and nephew, Brent & Kate Neben, Southern California.

Β He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan & Meta Neben.

    I can still remember your laughter at a good joke and especially what a wonderfully big heart you had to help anyone whose path you crossed who needed it. Rest well and in peace. My prayers are with you Wanda, as you grieve.
