In Care of the Family

Arlin Dale Kasuske, 36 of Ashland, NE, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 in Ashland, NE. He was born August 8, 1977 in Lincoln, NE to Kenneth and Shirley (Johnson) Kasuske. Arlin graduated from Ashland-Greenwood High School in 1995. During high school, Arlin worked at Mahoney State Park and this is where he first noticed his future wife. On June 10, 2000, he was united in marriage to Melissa Lutz at the American Lutheran Church in Ashland. Then he started working for his father at Kasuske and Sons Construction and after his father’s retirement, Arlin and his brother Jeff took over the business.

First and foremost, Arlin was a great father that put his family first. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, a coach for his kids’ sports teams, a dance dad, and a Girl Scout cookie dad. Not only would he help his family, but he would help anyone who would ask. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Arlin was a father that showed his children how much he loved their mother. His life was short, but very full. Arlin will be greatly missed by many.

Arlin is survived by his wife, Melissa Kasuske; children, Riley, Abby, and Kate Kasuske; mother, Shirley Kasuske of Ashland; brothers, Jeffrey (Karen) Kasuske of Ashland, Brian (Michelle) Kasuske of Ashland, Joe Kasuske of Ashland; sister, Michelle (John) Pritchett of Bellevue, NE; parents-in-law, Ron and Cindy Lutz; grandmother-in-law, Marie Lutz; sister-in-law, Angie (Andy) Ubel; Godchildren, Nora and Naomi Ubel; many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Kasuske; grandparents; many aunts and uncles; cousins, Steven Holtquist and Janelle Holtquist.

Pastor Lori Morton will be officiating.

Pallbearers are TJ Straight, Charlie Cover, Will Roberts, Dave Kennedy, Joe Konen, Andy Boone, Jim Rice, and Mike Laughlin.

We knew Arlin, Jeff and their father, Ken, when they built the addition to our cabin at Willow Point. We were so shocked and saddened to learn of Arlin’s death. They were all wonderful people to work with and know they were an honest and hard-working family. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, especially Arlin’s wife and children. May God give you comfort and His peace. Mike and Sue Pudwill

We saw Arlin grow up all the years we belonged to the Sportsman of Nebraskaland gun club. We went fishing in South Dakota with the family. He was always a joy to be around and enjoyed him when he would come down to the club. We have lived in Horseshoe Bend Arkansas the last 12 years and have lost contact, but you are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
