Barbara Irene Rix, 91, of Ashland, NE, entered into rest on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Oxbow Assisted Living in Ashland, NE.  She was born March 18, 1932 in Dayton, OH to Donald and Katherine (Sullivan) Davis.  Barbara graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University.  In November of 1954, Barbara was married to Douglas E. Rix at Grace Methodist Church in Dayton, OH.

Barbara worked at Bennett Martin Public Library in Lincoln, NE at the reference desk for 18 years.  She enjoyed visiting the Lead Conference Center, attending musicals and plays and traveling the world with her husband.  Some of her hobbies included art, drawing, pottery and gardening.  She loved nature, the outdoors and playing cards in her Bridge groups.  Barbara was a member of First Plymouth Congregational Church in Lincoln, NE.

She is survived by her children, Douglas C. Rix and Julie Rix.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Katherine Davis; sister, Joann Hoff.
