Bonnie Lou Yard, 85, of Ashland, NE, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at her home in rural Ashland.  She was born July 28, 1931 in Omaha, NE to Joseph and Nona (Rush) Lawrence.  Bonnie graduated from Benson High School.  On April 29, 1950, she was married to Bill Yard at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Council Bluffs, IA.

Through the years, Bonnie worked for Burlington Northern Railroad, the Ashland Country Club, and Commerce Bank until her retirement.  She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Altar Society, Ashland Garden Club, and the Red Hat Society.  She enjoyed archery, photography, gardening, clogging, golf, and square dancing.

She is survived by husband of 66 years Bill Yard; children: Linda Lou Yard of Seligman, AZ, Mike L. Yard of Seligman, AZ, Robert W. (Debi) of Crescent, IA, Donna M. (Jim) Yates of Bloomington, IN, Dave J. (Michele) Yard of Ashland; grandchildren: Steve, Nick, Ben, and Will Heimann, Joe Yard, Brennan Van Westering, Delaney Hann, Logan and Casey Yard, Nathan and Abby Yates, April, Mickayla, and Colton Yard; great-grandchildren: Garrett, Montana, Braedon, Bailey, Aiden, Alex, Cohwen, and Emmy Heimann, Madeline and Nolan Yard, Jameson and Hendrik Van Westering, Evy and Ben Yates, and Caily Yard.

She was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Nona Lawrence; and brother Jerry Lawrence.
