Donna M. Darnell, 77, of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Saunders Medical Center in Wahoo, NE.  She was born May 12, 1944 in Wahoo, NE to Frank and Marie (Rezak) Brabec.  Donna attended Wahoo High School.  On December 15, 1960, Donna was married to Caroll Thorson in Wahoo, NE.  Caroll died on August 11, 1970.  Donna was united in marriage to John Darnell on March 24, 1972 in Wahoo, NE.

Donna worked many years for Christensen Drug Store.  She loved bowling through the years with family and friends, and she loved collecting her bells and anything related to Elvis Presley.  Donna especially loved spending time with her family.  Donna was the loving mother of five children and “second mom” to many others.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John Darnell; children, Karri (Henry) Mildenberger, Rod (Shelli) Thorson, Tom Thorson, Bill (Patti) Thorson and Clayton “C.J.” (Stephanie) Darnell; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Caroll Thorson; parents, Frank and Marie Brabec; brother, Richard Brabec.

Pallbearers are Rod Thorson, Tom Thorson, Bill Thorson, C.J. Darnell, Hank Mildenberger and Raymond Brabec.

    Linda and I are very sorry to hear the news of Donna’s passing. We will remember her as beautiful, caring,loving lady.
    She had the best sense of humor and was always ready with a humorous come back. We have known her and John and their children for many years and will keep all in our thoughts and prayers.
    May she rest in peace and in the love of the Lord.

    Deepest to John and all of Donna’s Family. She was such a sweet and definitely fun lady. I bowled with Donna and went to a lot of State Bowling Tournaments . What fun and sometimes crazy times. She will be missed by many.

    John my heart goes out to you. May God give you comfort and open arms to Donna! She was a friend from childhood through school and on. She lived a block from me in young years and played together. Her accordion, singing and humo, love for all

    Memories of us as cousins make me smile. Always wishing I could play the accodian and sing like her. Plus that infectious laugh….may God reward her for all her goodness to others.
