Duane Harvey Jacobs, 80 of Ashland, NE, died Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Saunders Medical Center in Wahoo, NE. He was born October 9, 1935 in Omaha, NE to Harvey and Bertha (Arians) Jacobs. Duane graduated from Ashland High School in 1953. On August 25, 1957, Duane married Sandra Folsom at the First Christian Church in Ashland. Duane was a lifelong farmer in rural Ashland.

Duane was a member of the American Legion #129 and the Saunders County Livestock Association. He was a past board member of several area Co-ops, was recognized as an Outstanding Young Farmer by the Ashland Jaycees, and he won many awards as a seed corn dealer.

He is survived by wife of 58 years Sandra Jacobs; children: Michelle (Brian) Kasuske of Ashland, Debra Jacobs of Las Vegas, NV, and Christopher (Kathren) Jacobs of Ashland; grandchildren: Elle Pittman and Penelope Jacobs.

He was preceded in death by parents Harvey and Bertha Jacobs.

    I am friends with Duane’s son, Chris, and right when I met Duane I could tell where Chris got his hilarious sense of humor. I’ll remember him for that & waving to him at Husker games. My thoughts are with his family.
