Memorials

Eric loved children, and his life was positively impacted through his love of music, and we would like to honor his memory through donations to Matt’s Music Memorial at:

Matt’s Music Memorial is a foundation which helps children and youth who would not otherwise be able to participate in instrumental music programs in schools.

Eric David Holman, 39, of Omaha, Nebraska died September 26, 2018 in his home unexpectedly from natural causes. He was born November 20, 1978 in Madison, South Dakota to David Holman, and Martha (Owen) Holman. He attended Ashland-Greenwood Public schools and graduated from Ashland-Greenwood High School in 1997. He was a long time employee of Guckenheimer Enterprises at Union Pacific Railroad. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, sisters Ginger (Michael) Calkins, Kari (Luke) Foote, and Anne (Jesse) Weins; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by grandparents, niece Abigail, and nephew David.

Eric will be remembered by all who knew him for his fun loving and generous nature. He was always ready to laugh and had countless jokes ready. Many memories have been shared of the joy he brought to any situation. He was a wonderful musician with an eclectic taste in music and enjoyed sharing songs and artists with others. He was a self taught guitar player, and many people had fond memories of hearing him perform. He enjoyed shooting sports and had an exhaustive knowledge of firearms, and  enjoyed gun shows and hobby shooting.

Eric was a friend to many. He would offer an ear to listen, a word of encouragement and a helping hand when he could. He would have had your back in the zombie apocalypse. He loved movies, and would find ways to work quotes from his favorites into conversations whenever he could.  He was a fabulous cook, loved the Huskers almost as much as his nieces and nephews, and was an avid collector of antiques.

Eric had a beautiful spirit and was truly a one of a kind guy. We are so grateful to have shared his short life with him and will miss him greatly.

Condolences for Eric David Holman
