Fred A. Bluhm, 64, of Ashland, NE, died Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha.  He was born August 15, 1952 in Lincoln, NE to Verne and Lona (Reikofski) Bluhm.  Fred graduated from Murdock High School in 1971 and he attended Southeast Community College in Milford.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy until he was honorably discharged in 1976.  On May 5, 1973, Fred was united in marriage to Judy Foster at St. John’s Church in Seward, NE.

Through the years, Fred work for Hygain in Waverly, Kawasaki in Lincoln, Hughes Brothers in Seward, Nash Finch in Omaha, and currently at Menards in Omaha.  He was a member of the Seward Jaycees and the American Legion REJDA Post #273 in Brainard.  He volunteered at the VFW Post #4755 in Seward.

He is survived by wife of 43 years Judy Bluhm; children: Ryan Bluhm and fiancé Barb, Verne (Jamie) Bluhm, and Cheryl (Justin) Chesley; grandchildren: Laura Miller, Alex Bluhm, Allison Chesley, Markus Chesley, Lona Chesley, Matti Chesley, and Jordan Bluhm; sisters: Cindy (Bruce) Mayfield and Carol (Jeff) Sopher; brothers-in-law David Foster and Steve Foster; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents Verne and Lona Bluhm.
