Garry Neil Ridgley, aged 86, of Arcadia, NE, (formerly of Wahoo) passed away on September 2, 2024, in Wahoo, NE. Born on June 21, 1938, in Beatrice, NE, Garry graduated from Beatrice High School in 1956. He married Karen Kay Boward in 1960 and served in the US Army honorably from 1961 to 1967, part of which was spent in South Korea.

Following his military service, Garry built a career as a technician with Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company, where he worked for nearly forty years. After losing his first wife Kay to cancer, he married Beverly Hanson in 2007. Known for his offbeat, down-home sense of humor and heaping bowls of ice cream, Garry was a passionate outdoorsman who cherished hunting, fishing, boating, waterskiing, and camping. He was also an avid collector and conversationalist of firearms. He shared his love for the outdoors with his family, and also with the community through teaching Hunter Safety.

Garry is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Ridgley; children, Gerald Ridgley, Patricia (Lowell) Bomgaars, and Eugene Ridgley; step-daughters Deborah Hanson, Cindy Hanson, and Shelly (Chris) Cowden; grandchildren, Georgia (Eric) Mack, Bobbi Sue Mack, Jasmine Mack, Melissa (Donald) Pishna, Drew Nelson, Grace Ridgley, and Phineas Ridgley; great-grandchildren, Adan Mack, Alora Mack, Avary Mack, Zoe Lee Smith, Deegan Pishna, and Flynn Rogert; sister, Sharil Prall; brothers-in-law, Larry (Griselda) Boward and Jeffrey Melvin Boward; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
