Gilbert “Gib” L. Wilgus, 80, of Ashland, NE, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln, NE. Gib was born May 20, 1936 in Mead, NE to Howard and Lillian (Moline) Wilgus. He graduated from Mead High School in 1954. On January 20, 1973, Gib married Judy Huddleston in Moline, IL.
Gib was employed by Gates Rubber Co. and Reikes Equipment. He farmed from 1973 to 1992 and worked for the NDOR until his retirement in 2006. Gib was a good story teller and he always had a good joke or good story for the occasion. His humor will be missed by many.
He is survived by wife of 43 years Judy Wilgus of Ashland; son Dr. Mark (Josi) Wilgus of Billings, MT; daughter Kimberly (Joe) Pershing of Lincoln, NE; sister Jean Rastede of Omaha, NE; 5 step-children; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by parents Howard and Lillian Wilgus.

I met “Gib” about a year ago at the South Haven Reab. In Wahoo.
I was “One of the Boys” and became friends with Gib and George. We spent an hour or two just sitting in the rehab room talking..story telling and see who could tell the biggest lies. Gib had the best stories by far.
I will miss him dearly. He was so easy to like.No more pain my brother.
