American Legion Post #129 ~ Ashland, Nebraska
In care of the family for future designations
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jennifer Lynn (Jacobsen) Laughlin announce her passing, on November 23rd, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. Jenny was born on May 13th, 1978, in Omaha, Ne, with her twin sister, Jessica, to their parents, Kermit and Kathy Jacobsen. She attended school in Ashland, until her graduation from Ashland-Greenwood High School in1996. Jenny married her husband Doug on June 22, 1996, after they’d met in high school.
Jenny held different jobs, but most recently in the Ashland school cafeteria. She poured her heart into everything she did, whether it was work, her family, or other numerous events and activities she either planned or attended. Jenny planned multiple weddings and parties, belonged to the Women’s Club, and was a Girl Scout leader. There weren’t many in the Community who weren’t touched by Jenny in some way.
Jenny enjoyed shopping, finding the best deals, and spending time with her kids, nieces, sister-in-law, and countless other relatives. She was an expert at knowing exactly what her family needed, and simply talking to her made you feel like her friend. Jenny would never admit her impact, but will be dearly and deeply missed by anyone who even knew her.
Jenny was preceded in death by her dad, Kermit. She is survived by her husband Doug Laughlin, children Gus (Alex) Laughlin of Ames, Iowa; Katelynn (Dylan Roesler) Laughlin of Ashland, Nebraska; Maddie Laughlin; mother Kathy Jacobsen; sister Jessica Jacobsen; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Rest in peace Jenny. My heart & prayers go out to your family.
