Joan Rae Ready, 71, of Greenwood, NE, died Monday, August 29, 2016 at her home in Greenwood. She was born February 8, 1945 in Broken Bow, NE to Raymond and Emma (Clark) Hann. Joan graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1963. On November 24, 1965, she married Frederick Ready in Broken Bow, NE. She worked for Waverly Middle School for 15 years as a cook until her retirement.
Joan was a past Girl Scout leader and she enjoyed reading books, crossword puzzles, and square dancing.
She is survived by children: Jeffrey (Lynn) Ready of Lincoln, Rodney (Jennifer) Ready of Dunning, NE, and Michele (Joel) Stewart of Greenwood; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by husband Frederick Ready.
Rest in Peace dear friend…You are now with Fred again…Many Many years of visiting with you about everything…loved every minute of it …enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader right beside you..many many memories..To Jeff Rod and Michelle you were very lucky to have such a special mom …just know that when someone you love becomes a memory those memories become treasures…Love leaves a memory nobody can steal…please rely on your family and friends to get you through…Good bye my friend until we meet again..God bless each of you.

I was a square dance camping friend of both Joan and Fred. We have missed them both. You have my very deepest sympathy. We enjoyed their fellowship .

So sorry to hear of your loss, we just found out so are some late contacting you. I just wanted you to know that I thought a lot of Joan. She was my classmate and she will be missed by all of us. May God give your family peace and comfort.
So sorry to hear about your loss. It is a difficult time in our lives when we no longer have our mother. I gradated from high school with Joan, having begun our years in the Broken Bow school system in kindergarten. I have very fond memories of her.
