Judith A. Smith, 75 of Ashland, NE passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE.  She was born August 27, 1948 in south Omaha, NE to Oldrich and Alyce (Kubicek) Janousek.  Judy graduated from South High School in 1966 as an honors student and a member of the National Honor Society.  In 1969, she was united in marriage to Tom Smith.

Through the years, Judy worked for OMI (Omaha), Control Data (Omaha), Seagate (Omaha), Don’s Bar (Memphis) and No Frills (Ashland). She retired from No Frills as a cashier and bookkeeper.  Judy enjoyed giving gifts to her family on Christmas, Husker football parties and taking her family to dinner.

The legacy of her love lives on in her family and grandchildren.

Judith is survived by her husband, Tom Smith; sons, Jeff (Tricia) Smith, Jason (Melissa) Smith, Russ (Starla) Smith; grandchildren, Allison, Brooke,, Kieran, Leia, Abby and Emily Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oldrich and Alyce Janousek; brothers, Rich Janousek and Jerry Janousek.
