Libbie Zavodny, 94 of Wahoo, NE passed away July 20, 2017 at the Saunders Care Center in Wahoo.  She was born April 16, 1923 in Prague, NE to Joseph and Jessie Mach.

Libbie attended District # 84 county school and Prague High School for two years.  She was united in marriage on November 26, 1946 to James Zavodny.  From this union two children were born, Shirlee and Dave.  Libbie and Jim farmed near Prague until Jim passed away from a heart attack in 1958.  Libbie and her family moved to Wahoo where she went to work for the Linden Café and later worked at the Kennedy College until its closing.  She retired from the Saunders Medical Center where she worked as a housekeeper.

Libbie’s pride and joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   She loved cooking and gardening and had lots of flowers around her home.  She was a former member of the Prague Presbyterian Church and member of ZCBJ Lodge in Brainard, NE.

Libbie is survived by her daughter, Shirlee Poppe and special friend, Terry Sullivan of Wahoo; granddaughter, Michelle Hall and special friend, Dru Russell of North Bend; great-grandchildren, Riley Hall, Ellee Hall, Lexi Hall and Easton Russell all of North Bend; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; son, Dave; grandson, Jim; parents, Joseph and Jessie Mach; sisters, Christie Dvorak and Gustie Franta; brothers, Earnest, Emil and Elmer Mach.
