In Care of the Family for Future Designation

Lillie “Diann” Koranda, 64, of Wahoo, NE died on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at her home. She was born on January 10, 1952 to parents Glenn W. and Martha (Hunt) Johnson in Poplar Bluff, MO. Diann graduated from high school in Gothenburg, NE. Following high school, Dianne served in the United States Army from 1974 to 1977 as a Sargent. Her time in the military was spent stationed in Germany serving as a drug and alcohol rehabilitation specialist. Following her honorable discharge from the military, Dianne returned home and raised her family. She later went on to work as a career specialist at Mid Plains Community College in North Platte, NE and a learning & tutoring educational specialist at Metro Community College in Elkhorn, NE. She was united in marriage to Steve Koranda on March 15, 2004, at the Special Memories Chapel in Las Vegas, NV.

Diann was a member of St. Wenceslaus Church and had a very deep faith. She enjoyed nature photography, her flower garden, genealogy, and taking spontaneous motorhome trips to many of America’s national parks with her husband. Above all Dianne cherished the time she got to spend with her family, especially during the holidays.

She is survived by her husband; father, Glenn W. Johnson of Gothenburg, NE; children, Katrina Bowen of Omaha, NE, M.D. Bob and Melissa Bowen of Overland Park, KS, Angela and Chris Stuart of Ceresco, Dustin and Jessica Drews Lodgepole, SD, Stefanie and Charlie Lancaster of Memphis, NE, and Brian and Tiffany Koranda of Wahoo; grandchildren, Milania, Kayleigh, Hannah, Bethany, Libby, Eva, Boaz, and Brently; brothers, Glenn T., John, Jackie; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother; sister, Linda; and aunt, Lillie “Granny” Hall.

I am so sorry for your loss. Diann and I were friends at MCC and got to know each other driving to a wedding shower for a coworker, held in Iowa. We spoke often and shared grandbaby pictures and stories, those babies were her pride and joy. My wish for all of you is that the kind words of friends and family will comfort you and help you through these difficult times.
