Lois M. Johnson, 87 of Ashland, NE passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Oxbow Living Center in Ashland, NE.  She was born September 15, 1934 in Wann, NE to Clifford and Lucille (Sanders) Keiser.  Lois was a lifelong resident of Ashland. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she taught Sunday School and was an officer at the church.  She was united in marriage to Paul Ira Johnson on June 5, 1951 in Wann, NE.  From this union two sons were born, Rick and Rod.

Lois had many jobs throughout her life but most notably she was an emergency seamstress to many brides-to-be and cheerleaders and a mentor to anyone in the community.   She was a devoted caregiver for her ill mother, grandmother and her dear husband, Paul.  She was famous for baking cookies for anyone who needed to have a brighter day.  She took pride in her yard growing many flowers, especially roses.  Her pride and joy were her dogs, Muffin and Pepper.

Lois is survived by her sons, Rick (Susan) Johnson of Ceresco, Rod (Alisa) Johnson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Haynie, Ryan (Allison) Stubbendeck, Rhett (Krystal) Stubbendeck; great-grandchildren, Jace, Brody, Griffinn, Estella, Charles, and Monroe; brothers, Stanley (Evelyn) Keiser and Vern (Marilyn) Keiser.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Lucille Keiser; husband, Paul Johnson; siblings, Norman and Betty.

    Lois and I would enjoy quite the chitchat sessions when we would bump into each other while out and about. I am very saddened to hear about her passing. My condolences to her family… she will be dearly missed in the Ashland community.

    Frank and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy. Rick and Susan, you did a wonderful job looking after your mom. We pray that you find peace knowing that she is no longer in discomfort. Lois was such a good person and will be missed by many.

    I was in Rehab at South Haven while Lois was there and at my meals with her. We had a great time visiting. Thoughts and prayers going to all the family.

    Growing up and spending time in Ashland was always fun and attempted to visit and chat. I remember one time hunting for four leaf clovers at your house and actually finding one. You will be missed!! ❤️. Rick and Rodney I am sorry for your lose.
