Mary Ann Kavan, 87, of Wahoo, NE, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo, NE.  She was born February 18, 1935 in Wahoo, NE to Bernard and Anna (Machovec) Chapek.  Mary Ann graduated from Wahoo High School in 1952.  She received a degree in Dietary Management from Southeast Community College.  On February 16, 1957, Mary Ann was united in marriage to Vennie Kavan at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo, NE.  She worked for Bishop Neumann High School for many years.

Mary Ann was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Altar Rosary Society, American Legion #82 Auxiliary and the Saunders County Historical Society.

She is survived by children, John (Linda) Kavan of Doniphan, NE, Carol (David) Reznicek of Sioux Falls, SD, Jackie (David) O’Dell of Omaha, NE, Mark (Rita) Kavan of Wahoo, NE, Dale (Denise) Kavan of Colon, NE, David (Janine) Kavan of Wahoo, NE, Doug (Chris) Kavan of Malmo, NE, Harold (Teresa) Kavan of West Des Moines, IA and Janet (Joe) Davis of Castle Rock, CO; 28 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernadine Tobey and Mardy (Garth) Hengen; many other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vennie Kavan; granddaughters, Angela Kavan and Bethany Kavan; parents, Bernard and Anna Chapek; siblings, Ernie Chapek and Wilma Matuska; daughter-in-law, Tamara “Tammi” Kavan.

    Marsha and I have many fond memories of meals at the Vets club, visits on the porch out at the farm. We will always cherish Vennie and Mary Ann’s friendship. Our thoughts are with all of the family. Paul and Marsha Eddie
