Mary Mae (Rezac) Sundermeier was born November 19, 1963 and entered into eternal rest on July 18, 2024. She married her husband of 37 years, Jonathan Sundermeier, on September 26, 1986, and became the devoted mother of three daughters. She attended Bennington Public Schools and studied Art History at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. As a young mother, she earned a degree in horticulture with which she started her own landscaping business, The Red Tulip. Mary also worked at Farmers & Merchants Bank of Ashland for many years and volunteered at Kids’ Cupboard-Ashland.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Jonathan Sundermeier, daughters Ellen Bozzer (Brian), Mollie Sundermeier, and Lily Burr (Joseph), grandchildren Oliver, George, Walter, and Lucy Burr, her mother Evelyn Rezac, mother-in-law Grace Sundermeier, siblings Michelle Heideman (Wayne), Debra Cawley (Tim), Michael Rezac (Kathy), Rex Rezac (Aida), Julie van Mierlo (Joost), David Rezac (Anna), Timothy Rezac (Brandie), Rita Pratt (Todd), Matthew Rezac, and many nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law. She is preceded in death by her father James Rezac and father-in-law Michael Sundermeier.

Mary excelled as an artist and craftswoman, working with many mediums, most notably ceramics. She created a lovely home and garden near Greenwood. Mary leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, beautiful creations, and lasting relationships. She is deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

I am so sorry to see Mary has passed away. She was such a sweet lady. I enjoyed talking with her and seeing her eyes light up when speaking of her grandchildren.
I loved her beautiful back yard. She was so talented. Her light will shine forever in the faces of her grandchildren and all the beautiful flowers she planted. She will be missed. My sympathy to her husband and daughters Ellen, Mollie and Lily. Prayers to the family…🙏
