Michael J. McDonald, 72 of Wahoo, NE, died Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Saunders Medical Center in Wahoo. He was born March 20, 1943 in Las Vegas, NV to James and Marie (McHugh) McDonald. Mike attended school in Las Vegas and Tonopah, NV and two years at MacMurry College. He served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1964-1968 during the Vietnam War. On August 17, 1968, he was married to Marlene Whidden in Lincoln.
Michael worked for Western Electric for three years and Hormel for 34 years. He was a past commander of the VFW Post #4502. Hobbies he enjoyed during retirement were golfing, fishing, and playing cards.
He is survived by wife of 47 years Marlene McDonald; children: Matthew (Manuela) McDonald of Waverly, Maureen (Dallas) Christensen of Fremont; grandchildren: Mark and Maverik McDonald, David Christensen, Leah (Kyle) Olson, and Madeline Christensen; great-grandchildren: Raygen, Riley, and Reece; brothers: Jim (JoAnne) McDonald of Reno, NV and Pat (Sue) McDonald of Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by parents: James McDonald and Marie McHugh; step-father Maynard Hintermeister.

We were so sad to read that Mike has passed. Many good memories of the family, watching the kids grow up. Mike golfed at Valley View and it was always a joy to visit with him. A wonderful family. Mike will be missed.
