Nancy (Hill) Cassel-Peters, 88 of Ashland, NE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.  Nancy grew up in Omaha and Talmage, NE.  She attended Kearney State and Peru State College, where she obtained her Elementary Teaching Certificate.  She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority and was on the Kearney State Dance Squad.  In high school she was Salutatorian of her graduation class, volleyball player, cheerleader, and member of numerous organizations.

Nancy married Robert G. Fuss in June of 1956.  To this union three children were born.  She married Dr. Ralph L. Cassel on May 17th, 1980.  They enjoyed traveling Europe and The States, their church, bridge and many social activities.  She was also a member of the P.E.O. in Omaha, NE, Oklahoma City, OK, and Chapter B.D. of Ashland, NE.  Nancy was a member of American Lutheran Church in Ashland and The Wives of Physicians Nebraska.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Lori (William) Schenk of Ashland, Constance (Dr. Kaye B.) Carstens of Kansas City, MO, and Catherine (Patrick) Loch of Colorado Springs, CO;  sons,  Robert J. Fuss of Omaha, NE, Thomas Fuss of Los Angeles, CA, Chris (Mary) Cassel of St. Joseph, MI and Chad Cassel of Hastings, NE.  She is also survived by sister-in-law, Ann Hill Winner of Vienna, Austria; granddaughter, Makenzie Fuss (Zach) Hughes of Kansas City, MO; nieces, Courtney Hill (Hugh) Linley of Vienna Austria and Carrie Hill ( Constantin ) Loebus of Frankfurt, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Bobbie Lee Fuss; husband, Dr. Ralph L. Cassel; parents, Donald L. Hill and Gertrude G. Giermann Taylor; brother, John T. “Jack” Hill and David Hill; sister, Susan Hill of Portland, Oregon.
