Rebecca Rae “Becky” Jacobs passed away at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, NE on Friday May 10, 2024. She was born in Lincoln, NE on July 21, 1951 to Herman W. E. and Joyce B. Jacobs of Ashland, baptized and confirmed in the American Lutheran Church, and graduated in the Ashland-Greenwood class of 1969. She also attended Dana College in Blair, NE.
Becky started her career serving in a general administrative capacity at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln, NE; the Med Center in Omaha, NE; and eventually ACI in Omaha, NE. Her marketing position at ACI afforded her the opportunity to move to the role of training users of ACI’s sophisticated banking software. Becky traveled extensively, both domestically and abroad, to conduct training classes during her tenure at ACI. She spent the last few years of her work life seeking solutions for customer issues at PayPal in Omaha, NE before she retired in 2020.
Becky’s love of music led her to learn the piano, accordion, flute, and piccolo while also singing in vocal groups. She enjoyed drama and theater, literature, and film. She also expressed her creativity in the many beautiful ceramic pieces she created as well as the baked goods she made for friends. Above all else, Becky’s greatest joys were found in the many friendships she developed over her 72 years on this earth.
Becky is survived by her brother-in-law Neil Maack of Ashland; sisters Pam Jacobs of Omaha, Janice Jacobs of Ashland; niece Shannon Garner of Omaha, nephew Brian (Jamaree) Maack of Ashland, nieces Jane (Sean) Horner of Waverly, Kelly (Greg) Wiley of Lincoln; nephews Matthew (Jillian) Fiene of Brookline, NH, Sam Fiene of Lincoln, Ben (Sara) Fiene of Lincoln, many great nieces and nephews; friend Mary Lien of Omaha who shepherded her through the trials of a lengthy illness; many other faithful and beloved friends and relatives with whom she shared life’s joys and burdens.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents Herman W. E. & Joyce B. Jacobs of Ashland, NE and sister Nancy Maack of Ashland, NE.
Miss Becky how do we say goodbye to such a wonderful, smart, and vibrant true lady. Thank you to your family for letting us share you. You left us to soon and your laugh and your smile will remain in my heart forever Love and prayers for your family
The “friendliest ” neighbor I had growing up, it saddens me to think of her being gone, love to her family and friends.
Nicest and most friendly neighbor I had as a child on the old 15th street, it saddens me to hear of her passing
I am so sorry to hear this news. She and Jo were such fun & fine neighbors to me over 7 years. She will be a loss to many!
Becky, I worked with you at Lutheran Medical Center many years ago and completely enjoyed not only your wonderful attitude and humor, but the great skills and approach your brought to any job. You will be missed by many!
There was never a more giving and kind person as Becky. I’m lucky to have been able to call her Friend
Be at peace Beckwith (my nickname for her.)

When I need to escape from bad memories I think of Becky, her sense of humor and so intelligent. We worked together and sometimes we played pranks on each other. I missed her when she left to go to ACI. I am having problems with memories, those ‘you should have been there memories’ where you just start laughing. Seems like one minute she was her and now gone far to soon.
Memories of a kind person who for many years a neighbor to my grandparents, playmate for me, and high school classmate. Gone to soon from her friends and family.
When we moved to Ashland our girls were in school. They were small and know no one. A car pulled ÜP to our place and it was Becky and her sister Nancy. They stayed and played. IT was a lasting friendship and made it so much easier to Enter a new school. 🙏👏🏻❤️❤️
