Ricky “Rick” Odell Sillman, 66, of Ashland, NE, entered into rest on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE.  He was born July 29, 1955 in Canby, MN to Odell Clayton and Geraldine Louise (Holstein) Sillman.  Rick graduated from Ashland-Greenwood High School in 1973.

Rick’s love of dirt track racing, inspired him, along with his brother Jeff, to establish S&S Welding Inc. He operated the business in Greenwood, NE, with family, until his passing.  He enjoyed fishing, car shows, gun shows, swap meets and working on classic cars.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandkids, and later in life had a special love for his cats.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debra Sillman; children, Michael (Jennifer) Smith, Danielle Sillman, Katrina (Chris) Brown, Ricky (Brianne Lindvig) Sillman Jr. and Shannon Sillman; grandchildren, Ella and Liam Ward, Cael, Olivia and Nora Smith; mother, Geraldine Sillman; siblings, Jeff (Dorene) Sillman, Scott Sillman, Steve (Diana) Sillman, Mike (Barb) Sillman, Tony (Kimm) Sillman, Todd Sillman and Robbie Sillman; many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by grandson, Sebastian Odell Ward; father, Odell “Bud” Sillman; grandparents, Clarence and Millie Holstein, Leo and Palma Sillman.

    We will miss you alot. My favorite brother inlaw who has been there for me always. Someone who always had a joke for each other and never pushed me in when we would fish.

    So sorry 😢.
    I have fond memories of Rick. He was a lot like his dad. He had that orneriness side. I could see the gleam in his eyes and knew he was up to something. I know it has been awhile since I seen him last. He was Famliy and I will miss him. I am sorry for his family they all will be in my thoughts and prayers each and everyone of you always.

    I meet rick back in 1970 when my family move to ashland. Went to church his dad picked me up on the bus. Have fond memories of my short stay in ashland. sorry for your loss.

    Sorry about the loss to the Sillman family.
    I worked with Jeff, Scott, and and many of the others many years ago at UNARCO. Rich was a good example for the siblings way back in the 1970’s. A good worker and he had lots of fun racing cars. Rick helped me manage working the long evening shift when I used to fall alsleep standing up welding!!
