Russell R. Allington, 70, of Ashland, NE, died Monday, July 24, 2017 at the Ashland Care Center in Ashland, NE. He was born August 29, 1946 in Omaha, NE to Norman and Elaine (Peterson) Allington. Russ graduated from Ashland High School in 1964. On June 20, 1964, he married Sandra Rung at First Christian Church in Ashland, NE.
Russ was a lifelong farmer in the Ashland area. He served on the Ashland-Greenwood School Board for 12 years, Ashland Rural Fire Board, Cass County Planning Commission and he served on the initial planning committee for the Ashland Medical Clinic. Russ and his family were past recipients of the Jaycees Outstanding Young Farmer, WOW Farm Family of the Week and the Good Neighbor Award at the Cass County Fair. He enjoyed attending his grandkid’s activities, traveling, and spending winters in Arizona.
He is survived by wife of 53 years, Sandra Allington; children: Randy (Lori) Allington of Marion, IA, Jill (Jim) Klaudt of Ashland and Angela (Joseph) Konen of Ashland; grandchildren: Alex, Ben, Blake Allington, Jennifer and Jessica Klaudt, Mollie, Luke and Taylor Konen; brother, Roger (Linda) Allington of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Elaine Allington.

Sandy, I was shocked and saddened to see of Russells passing. I am so sorry. Because of another funeral at the same time I will be unable to attend the services but please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
I will never forget Russell the farm shows tractor pulls at the cass county fair or just the visits at the coop. Had a lot of fun times together. Russell will be missed but will always be in my memory.

I am sorry to hear of Mr Allington’s passing. I remember he gave me my first job, walking beans! His jokes and smile, lit up those early mornings.Mrs Allingon, Randy, Jill and family, you are in our prayers.
