Ruth Louise Porter of Sun City, AZ passed away on February 12, 2022, shortly after suffering a stroke.

Ruth, born August 6, 1933 to parents Elmer and Ruth Johnson, Ashland. Ruth spent her formative years living with her Grandparents, Oscar and Esther Sandberg, Ashland. Ruth delivered fresh milk from her uncle’s farm to customers on her way to school. She graduated from High School and shortly after fell in love with Richard Porter. They married November 23, 1952 and their marriage was blessed with two children, Roger (Hazel) Porter & Robin (Terry, deceased) Moore. Being a mother was one of the most important parts of Ruth’s life and she was a doting mother and also loved spoiling her numerous Grandchildren, Samantha (Aaron) Andrews, Justin (Lisa) Moore, Brad (Nancy) Moore, Bryan (Ashley) Moore and Great Grandchildren Caitlyn & Riley Andrews, Lanie, Meyah & Westin Moore, Gavin Daily, Brody &, Logan Moore, Evelyn, Sloan & Corbin Moore. Also, Ruth marveled at pictures of her Great Great Grandson, Jase Andrews. “Ruthie” was a friend to many people in every place she lived. She made lifelong friendships too numerous to mention.

Ruth was a Member of the Methodist Church in Ashland and while living in Scribner, NE she joined the Congregation Church of Christ. Ruth also took great pride in her lifelong association with The Eastern Star. She joined the Ashland chapter in 1953 then demitted prior to joining The Eastern Star Mystic Circle 126 in Scribner, NE which became the Friendship Chapter 122 in Hooper, NE for a total membership that spanned 69 years.

Ruth was preceded in death by her grandparents, Oscar and Esther, parents Elmer and Ruth, sister Norma and husband Richard.
